COLLEGE MENTORS INSPIRE AT FTC 3RD GRADE FINALE

Over the course of the past 5 months Dartmouth student volunteers, led by Kaitana Martinez and Sarah Bennett, taught the Find The Courage Elementary Program to 3rd graders at White River School and Thetford Elementary School. The Find The Courage college mentors who consistently visited classrooms included Dartmouth student-athletes Anna Clark, Kennedy Jensen, Olivia Lantz, Angela Ortlieb and Alexa Jennings.

Following the completion of the program, Find The Courage partnered with both White River School and Thetford Elementary School to hold FTC Finales! At the finale, FTC College Mentors brought along with them special guests Dartmouth football players, Justin Douchee, Abrm McQuarters and Justin  Call. The mentors  shared their favorite Find The Courage strategy to stand up for others, as well as a personal story connected to using that strategy in real life. Following the mentors talk, third graders stood and shared their favorite FTC strategy to stand up for others as well as some of the art work they had done in the program.

Then to complete the finale, each student’s name was called to receive a Find The Courage certificate and t-shirt, donated by Jack and Julie Creamer and Dan Lehr.

The finale was a great result of the teamwork between Find The Courage, White River School,  Thetford Elementary School and the college mentors.
