An 8th grade classroom in New York City Found The Courage this year. 8th graders worked together throughout the year learning the Courageous 7, seven direct and indirect strategies to stand up for those who are being mistreated. The co-ed group of students role-played strategies, created artwork and discussed the different ways they could make an impact standing up for others. Find The Courage Co-Founder Molly Creamer shared, “what I found particularly meaningful about this year’s program, was that in the midst of such a negative political season, students really saw the importance of sharing their differing opinions in ways that were respectful and not demeaning.”
On the final day of the program, students shared artwork they made that represented their takeaways from the program, and performed role-plays of the Courageous 7 strategies that resonated with them.
